So, after my "Looking Back and Moving On" post, taking a look at "Magical Mystery Cure," I was wondering two things:
1) Do you guys want me to do a "Looking Back and Moving On" post for another episode? And make this an ongoing series?
2) If yes, which episode do you want me to do next?
And just fyi, unless #1 gets a unanimous "No," then I will definitely be doing a series. I just want you guys to give your opinions as to which episode(s) should come next.
They can be either the good episodes or the bad episodes, I'll do the same analysis either way. But like "Magical Mystery Cure," I'd prefer to look at episodes that are polarizing. So I'd rather look at a Season 2/Season 3 episode than a Season 1 episode.
Some points to keep in mind though when suggesting an episode:
1) I will ONLY look at episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Don't ask me to look at other cartoons, other shows, or even other MLP generations. This includes "Equestria Girls," when it airs, as being off-limits. (Though after it airs, I may change my mind about that.)
2) Two-parter episodes do count as two episodes. If you want me to do "The Return of Harmony," for example, you have to specify whether you mean Part 1 or Part 2. You can suggest the other one afterwards.
3) Unless there's an overwhelming opposition to this, I'll try to get out a "Looking Back and Moving On" post weekly. (This means that you won't ever go more than seven days without one. It does not mean that I will for-sure have one every Friday, or every Monday, or every Tuesday, or every Sunday or whatever.)
4) I will not look at an episode that I have already looked at previously. Even if my opinion of the episode has changed since then. I'd rather get out new material, so don't suggest something that I've already done. If I feel, of my own free will, that it is worth re-doing an episode, I will do that, but it's incredibly unlikely.
5) I will take suggestions for episodes to look at forever. If you didn't get a chance to suggest an episode this week, you can suggest one next week.
6) You may not suggest a MLP:FiM episode, unless its original airdate is at least six weeks in the past. Right now, that means that all 65 episodes are fair game. When Season 4 is airing though, you can't suggest episodes until they reach that threshold. Same goes with future seasons. Well, technically I guess you CAN suggest them, but I will ignore those suggestions. The reason for this is because I want to look at the episodes in HINDSIGHT, for one. And for another, I don't want to compete with Dusty's reviews.
7) While I will look at what people want all the time, it is NOT a majority-rule. If I feel that an episode with just a single vote would be more interesting than something with ten votes, I'll do that one instead. But I won't totally ignore your suggestions either. My rule-of-thumb is going to be that I can only do episodes that people have suggested (unless I don't have any suggestions), so I can't just choose an episode that nobody wanted me to do.
8) I reserve the right to change these rules at any time.

Arc System Works News

OH. MY. GOODNESS. Now THIS is some news I can sink my teeth into! (In other words, please excuse me while I gush about some newly revealed additions to properties that I'm hopelessly obsessed with.)
Earlier today (May 19, but you COULD say that it was yesterday since it's already May 20 in Japan), one of my all-time favorite video game developers held a 25th anniversary event at the Pacifico Yokohama convention center in Japan. And boy howdy, they revealed some great lookin' stuff there!
Now, some of you may remember when I posted about the new BlazBlue game last year, and some of you may not. That game has already been out in Japanese arcades for a few months, but the console release isn't supposed to hit shelves until this October... Well, we now have some evidence that this is a conscious marketing decision, because there's something else coming out this Fall that will undoubtedly raise awareness for the series, and presumably lead to better video game sales.
Check to see what I'm talking about after the break...

One thing that I forgot to mention: If you are given the choice between seeing it in 2D or 3D, choose 2D. The 3D effects are very shallow in this movie.

Pony Pics 183

The Lord Of Dust
Whelp either I'm becoming more discerning in taste or artists just aren't what they used to be, but another short Pony Pics for today.
So... Pitch Black 2 it is.

The Lord Of Dust
The new Riddick movie, just titled Riddick, looks to be eerily similar to the Pitch Black, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

| This Sunday's new episode of Secret Millionaires Club is gonna be so spoopy. I think I might pook my pants. |
But anyway, there's actually nothing going on this Saturday (May 18) aside from a five-hour Animaniacs marathon that will be starting at 12:00PM ET. However, on Sunday (May 19), we'll actually be getting a new episode of Secret Millionaires Club. And this one involves a supposed paranormal haunting! While some people may question the reasoning behind the timing for this particular episode, I say it's never too early for Halloween-y goodness.
Check below for the details!
Secret Millionaires Club 9:00AM ET on Sunday, 5/19
"Paranormally We Don't Do This Kind of Thing"
"The SMC kids travel to Scotland to investigate a bed and breakfast that may be haunted. In order to save the business, they’ll have to disprove the rumors of ghosts and devise a plan to attract new customers."

So, unless you've been living under a rock for the past three months, our protagonist, Twilight Sparkle, is now an alicorn princess.
In the buildup to the episode, fans were divided over whether or not this was a good idea. And when I say "divided", I mean that about 90% of the fans said that they were opposed to it.
Like, seriously. This is what it was like:
Yeah, nearly everyone was worried. Here at Obsession Is Magic, Dusty and I had a heavy debate going as to whether or not this would be a good thing.
He argued that it would ruin the show. I argued that while I didn't like the idea of having Twilight become an alicorn, I could see ways of making it work.
I believe in M. A. Larson. I believe in M. A. Larson. I believe in M. A. Larson.
These words were chanted over and over, by myself and many others.
When the actual episode aired, several bronies cried "This show is RUINED FOREVER!" or "I'm leaving the fandom!"
Though you'll note that few actually DID leave the fandom. However, I was an exception. I did leave the fandom after this. But, it's been three months. And I'm starting to think that maybe - just maybe - seeing all of that hatred just skewed my opinion. I may have seen the bronies hating it, and thus I wanted to hate it too.
Three months later, and although people still hate Princess Twilight Sparkle, they are less vocal about it. I haven't heard many complaints, so I think that I can now give an unbiased opinion as I rewatch the episode.

Today, Friday, May 17 at 7:30PM ET, "As the Autobots adjust to new group dynamics within their expanded lineup, the Decepticons launch a new scheme to clone an army of beasts."
Woohoo! After just over a month of waiting, it's finally time for a new episode of Transformers: Prime! And hey, it looks like some of those new Predacons that have been coming out as toys might finally get roles in the show!
For those of you who, like me, can't wait until the episode actually comes out, a preview clip can be found here. Just be warned that the clip does indeed contain SPOILERS.
For those of you who tune in earlier, this episode will be immediately preceded by a two-hour marathon of this season's previous episodes, which will be starting at 5:30PM ET with "Darkmount, NV".

Comic Releases for 5/15

I apologize for taking so long to post this, but when I was running through all of my sources last night, I saw that none of them were agreeing on exactly what was coming out today. Because of that, I decided to wait until I could go to my local comic shop and check for myself.
Now then... As I'm sure many of you are already aware, issue #7 of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" came out today! As for the confusion regarding issue #91 of "Transformers: Regeneration One", it appears that the DIGITAL version already came out on comiXology last week, but the actual PRINT version didn't come out in stores until TODAY.
Anyway, summaries and previews can be found below!
